Endings - Last Harvest

Harvested the last of the lavender, rosemary, catnip and mint from the garden. Sweet smelling lavender in my lap. Sadness. The earth gave me such abundance this year- everything was good.

The link for the artist who painted the picture here.

I really must put this lavender into my pillow - it smells so beautiful and brings memories of kindness.

For my dear sister

And speaking of the Harvest, Read this from Uppity Woman on Michelle Obama and her efforts at reducing obesity and planting gardens.

Uppity Woman, on November 12, 2010 at 11:41 AM said:

Green, farmers markets are in danger with this leadership. Monsanto people have been appointed to the USDA and Rep DeLauro is chomping at the bit to pass legislation that makes it impossible for small farmers to exist.

Our food supply is in extreme danger and that is what i wish Michelle would be talking about. What good is teaching children good nutrition if there is no real food left out there?

Most people, and I used the word most deliberately, MOST people cannot afford organic food and if it were up to Monsanto, there would be no such thing because they would have actual patents on food. They have already tried to claim a PATENT on CORN. Can you imagine this?

Wait, I want to post a link for you here, so look for an update on this comment shortly.

Posted on April 21, 2009 by Uppity Woman

We’ve mentioned Monsanto here, including their relationship with Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn), whose husband counts Monsanto on his consulting client list, and her obnoxious bill which would cripple organic and local farmers, drive them out of business, and install more of Monsanto’s genetetically engineered seeds and chemicals into our homes and our bodies.

Well look where else Monsanto is about to drop their mutant seeds:

President Obama has named Rajiv Shah, the Gates Foundation’s director of agricultural development, as Under Secretary for Research, Education, and Economics at the USDA.

The Gates Foundation’s agriculture efforts have been criticized for ties to Monsanto, the globe’s largest seed company and dominant purveyor of genetically modified seed traits. In 2007, the Gates Foundation named Rob Horsch, a long-time Monsanto VP, deputy director of its agricultural development initiative.

Better living through chemicals and “high yield” using genetically altered seed is apparently the goal of this administration and his complicit House of Representatives. Continue to plan to say good bye to your local Farmer’s Market because local small farmers are about to be smoked by Monstanto’s friend Ms. DeLauro - and now Mr. Shah can help her out....READ MORE AT THE LINK ABOVE PLUS SEE THE FAB MONSANTO GRAPHIC.

I know Monsanto is the devil - they are ruining tofu products as well as producing genetically modified food and seeds, toxic food and on and on -- devils -- part of the truly evil like BP and Haliburton and arms dealers in South Africa and well just devils -- We don't need all that religious BS when we have real devils right in front of us in the world.

Blessings on your final harvest and your bountiful success. You have made the world a better place and given the Goddess a wonderful tribute. Thank you also for the 2 links. Crab that I am, I was in my shell again. Silly me for thinking I can hide from hurt. Thank you for enticing me out into the world. I will try to stay out and value myself for the goat that I am. I never give up, Green. Sometimes the people in my life get in the way, but I never give up. Love you. And a heartfelt thank you.
