Equal Pay
TO: Puma PAC
FROM: Murphy
SUBJECT: Equal Pay
Dear Puma PAC,
Today we are asking the National Organization for Women and Barack Obama why he pays the women on his staff approximately 78 cents for every dollar the men on his staff earn. On average, the women, who outnumber the men by a significant margin, on John McCain's staff earn about $1.01 for every dollar the men on his staff earn. And Obama wants us to believe his empty words about a commitment to equal pay? And NOW is silent? NOW, the women's rights advocacy group that endorsed Barack Obama, a man with no record of achievement or commitment to women's rights over Hillary Clinton?
Hogwash.
Please send the following note by email and fax to Barack Obama and to NOW. Also, call their offices as soon as you can. Ask them directly how Barack Obama plans to address the gender bias in his personnel office.
Thank you, and Good Luck,
Murphy

p.s. On the web contact form, Senator Obama asks you to click a box beside the subject about which you are writing. Since he has NO BUTTON FOR WOMEN'S RIGHTS or even WOMEN'S ISSUES, I suggest you click on the box that he does find room in his political soul to include: ANIMAL WELFARE. Maybe we should ask his staff about that as well.

Dear Senator Obama and the National Organization for Women:
Senator, when are you going to either start paying the women on your staff equal pay for equal work OR stop mouthing empty platitudes about your fake commitment to women's rights? The web contact form on your Senate page DOES NOT INCLUDE women's rights or even women's issues as a category of interest to you. But, strangely, you do include "Animal Welfare." Do you mean to imply that women's rights are of less interest to you than Animal Welfare?
I am a Democrat and member of Puma PAC (People United Means Action) the Voice of the Voters in the Democratic Party (www.pumapac,org) and your disdain for issues affecting every day, working class women is one of the MANY reasons I will not be voting for you in November.
Stop the pandering.
Sincerely,
Puma PAC Democrat
