Mad as Hell Rally
Tuesday, March 13
12noon-1pm
State Capitol, Madison (STATE ST STEPS)
Bring your friends, your signs, your voice
Join us as we say NO to taking away access to birth control. Say no to denying access to lifesaving cancer screenings. Say no to taking away comprehensive sex education from Wisconsin youth. And as we say no to restricting access to abortion
Tuesday, March 13,with women demonstrating outside, the Assembly Republicans will be voting on bills that are certain to pass:
1] To further restrict access to abortion and interfere in the doctor-patient relationship. They are adding an extra waiting day to those already in place and adding to the expense. They are adding criminal penalties for doctors who refuse to following all the roadblocks they have placed between women and their abortion. Their handouts and scripted lectures that doctors are supposed to give are filled with misinformation.
2] They will be voting to take away private insurance coverage for abortion care. The ultimate goal is to remove all funding for abortion through insurance. Forced breeders have used the argument that no taxpayer should have to pay for abortion against their religion.
They are attacking abortion funding by spreading the word that religion needs to fight against Obamacare. All this to save money on insurance for the Vatican and its all male hierarchy by victimizing women. They also attack women by denying them contraception under pharmacists op -out provisions. In small towns this denies women contraception unless they make long drives to out of town medical facilities.
Women have not fought this BS and that fight should start now. We live in a secular society and we all have to fund all secular laws. It is enough that the churches are tax exempt (actually it is too much since they use their churches to organize).
3] They will be voting to end comprehensive sex education in Wisconsin
WI has sunk to religious lawmaking. That is Sharia law. Republicans have brought Sharia law to WI.
****************************************************
Religious lawmakers imposing their beliefs on non believers have already defunded Planned Parenthood in WI and thereby eliminated poor women's access to cancer screenings and birth control.
They also repealed the state's Pay Equity law and took away women's right to equal pay for equal work.
The law was enacted in 2009 for victims of pay discrimination to plead their case in the less-expensive Circuit Court System (with stiffer penalties for employers) rather than suffer a likely loss in federal court -- if they could even get their cases heard at all according to strict federal guidelines
And they even tried to legally define "personhood" from the moment of fertilization and take away a woman's right to safe legal abortion in Wisconsin, no exceptions.
Here are some signs you can make to carry at the demonstration:
RELIGIOUS LAWMAKERS DISCRIMINATE AGAINST WOMEN
EQUAL HEALTH CARE RIGHTS FOR WOMEN
NO TO THEOCRACY
NO DISCRIMINATORY INSURANCE LAW IN WISCONSIN
RELIGIOUS LAWMAKING BRINGS SHARIA TO WISCONSIN

This is the Rachel Tucker cover of the song, not Joan Baez but it is a great inspiration to move on out!
