Another reason for constitutional amendments: OWS
Congress of course, exempts itself from the laws it passes and awards itself and its staff exemptions from repayment of student loans.
I care about this because I have always wanted a forgiveness of student loans for vets who devote three days medical care a month to animals whose owners cannot afford vet care. Our rotten govt gives such forgiveness of student loans to veterinarians who work in rural areas for food animals who will be slaughtered but will not grant the same forgiveness of student loans to urban vets. Of course urban people do not deserve equal treatment from congress. Only the Big Agri, Big Money campaign donors deserve any help. This is another reason for a constitutional amendment.
From Full Circle:
... the staffers of Congress family members are exempt from having to pay back student loans...
35 States file lawsuit against the Federal Government
Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.
...For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens (have) no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the 6ylaws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform... in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.
Go here to read suggested amendments and add another one that states "Congress and staff shall not be exempt from any of the laws it enacts to burden the people".
