Geraldine Ferraro and the very Reverend Wright
Now BO's minister who makes disgustingly racist statements routinely to boost his religious business is out on video.
His racism is in stark contrast to Ferraro's analysis.
Let's see Bo's response. His campaign is so quick to go after people like Bill Clinton and Geraldine Ferraro to attempt to smear their legitimate observations with PC labels - let us see how he reacts to the film of his minister. His mentor. His teacher.
Hell, lets see if the media covers his minister's statements on video as they covered Ferraro.
This is the media - Obama is blocking the recount in Florida but the media reports that both campaigns will not agree. This is sexist reporting that steps over the line to protect Obama - It is just like not covering the fact that Bo's minister is an anti semitic racist.
Listen: Even Wright's rants should be answered not silenced as racism. The label racism has silenced too many discussions in the past. We do not need to shun Wright, we need to have him on television and answer his charges.
Both black and white politicians and bloggers should address his arguments for there is a kernel of truth in all of them and that is why so many were believers. It is an opportunity to dialog between communities and there have been injustices: the drug laws which are genocide on black men and a career for white politicians and lawyers, are just one example.
Tenn Guerilla Women has an interesting quote at Olbermann's Meltdown: KO Compares Hillary's Campaign to KKK's David Duke:
In my view, Ferraro's comments refer to the free pass presidential candidate Barack Obama has received from national leaders and from a media plagued with what appears to be white liberal guilt, or fear that any criticism of Sen. Obama will be viewed as racist. But some take her words to mean that all of Senator Obama's achievements are due to some affirmative action program -- a decidedly right-wing frame. And so they cry racism. All of this does seem to justify the fears of the Obama-worshipping media.
Good people can disagree on the intent or meaning of her remarks, but there was a time when progressives were known for nuance, for operating on the premise that there are many shades of gray in between GOOD and EVIL. There was a time when it seemed to be a given that everyone has a unique standpoint and thus everything cannot be seen clearly from any one point of view. Those days appear to be long gone, and Keith Olbermann appears to represent the neo progressive with the view that Hillary and all her supporters are every bit as EVIL as the vilest Republican. And it's Keith's view, or no view.
