Did you Watch Them Kill the Tiger

...There are questions that need to be answered. I would like to know if Fish and Game officials even have tranquilizer guns. And does it really take 15 minutes for a tranquilizer to take effect? How do we explain then the footage that we see in documentaries about wild animals? Time lapse photography? Wouldn’t an already disoriented animal be stunned enough by the tranquilizer dart that it probably would not bolt and run?
There is only one heartening aspect to this sad story. People haven’t forgotten. They haven’t just gone on with their lives and pushed away the image of this majestic wild animal being shot dead by men with high-powered rifles. They have come out with candles, banners and photographs. They have summoned the news cameras and made statements for everyone to hear. Letters and e-mails are being sent to Sacramento.
