Please be careful not to make too many assumptions about Shepherd Smith and the 2 dogs that approached him during a live feed for FOX news... We don't know what happened when the camera's stopped rolling - and if we are to discover that the crew DID SOMETHING to help these dogs, without the need to film it for self-promotion (as we're finding some media and celebrities - sadly, Oprah :o( - have resorted to), then they are to be commended.
Remember, too, that Greta Van Susteren Perhaps a way to find out what happened w/these dogs is to write to Greta at: ontherecord @ foxnews . com - and ask her to PLEASE post info at her blog.
She is an animal lover, and often discusses the plight of animals (to include photos, etc) at her site. In fact, she recently posted a tear-jerker video regarding the rescue of a puppy from the roof of a home while she was reporting (from the boat).... she is not the type to think "story first"... she has personally rescued animals she's come across, both in the U.S. and when she has reported in Aruba.

Green consciousness notes: I was so worried about the Wiskerville Sanctuary and another kind poster on the Best Friends Blog found the page of their web which has an update. I finally figured out that you have to scroll down by dragging the mouse downward
I am happy to announce that although the Wiskerville Sanctuary in Texas City still does not have a generator and the a/c failed and it is very hot, they are safe, alive and receiving support and encouragement. Blessings to all who helped. The note below is from the 2 Wiskerville women who operate the Sanctuary.
Now that all of our animals are secure, we are busy rescuing animals in Texas City that have been left behind by their owners who fled the storm.Thank you for any assistance you can provide and keep us and our beloved animals in your thoughts and prayers
