Feminist Debate Honor/Horror Killings and Hate Crimes Against Women

Sharia is coming (or maybe has always been here) to the US, just in a more subtle form - primarily to do with protection enforcement. It is all about the constitution and where enforcement money is allocated. Not what laws are passed or what regulatory agencies are supposed to do.

Enforcement now is all about drugs; everything else is occasional when unavoidable. The boys love their war on drugs because it is all about obedience. No personal salvation, only one way, the man's way. And because of their sadistic desire for control they have created monsters just as prohibition did. No amount of reason or stats can persuade them to give up their cruelty and focus instead on protecting ordinary people from physical and economic predators.

The signs that women are viewed as property of the men in their lives are: the predominantly male police force's refusal to protect women, the patriarchal court system's hostility to women, the granting of primary custody to male abusers and addicts who beat and teach children to kill, abusers who have sex with teenagers in front of their children (sometimes in the same bed), fathers with custody who leave the children unprotected from their criminal acquaintances and subject to abduction, the rise of child prostitution, the refusal to accept gender equality in the US constitution, the active pornification of culture,the tolerance and acceptance of the sexualization of children in the media, ad and entertainment industries, the tolerance for breeding of children for sexual and economic exploitation ala Michael Jackson and the "8 or 17 is not enough" reality TV, the encouragement of breeding at unsustainable numbers by economic policies and the corresponding tolerance of throw away children, the refusal to campaign against gender slavery globally, the teaching of cultural relativism about gender in the university, the lack of women's rights history in the schools, the acceptance of slave clothing of Muslim women and gender apartheid in the US in the name of "tolerance", the escalation and tolerance of the war on women both economically and culturally especially when women try to gain Independence from male supervision and most of all the conflating of women's needs with children's needs as if all women gain when child care and maternity leave benefits are provided. Gender violence/femicide is not a hate crime in the US - it is not even worthy of police protection and court enforcement. Restraining orders are used against the victims. Heads Up!

These People Claim That Honor Killings Are The Same As Domestic Violence.
Hard on the heels of the Buffalo beheading, the mainstream and feminist media hosted many Islamic clerics, Muslim, Jewish, Christian religious writers, as well as liberal, secular feminists, all of whom insisted that honor killings are no different than domestic violence; that both are crimes; and that honor killings have nothing to do with Islam just as domestic violence has nothing to do with religion.
Even so, everyone also said that an anti-Muslim bias (or "Muslim baiting"), controlled the perception of honor killings in general, and saw honor killings even when they did not exist-for example, in the case of the Buffalo beheading.
Pace, Soheila Vahdati in Womens eNews and Aziz Poonawalla in Beliefnet: No one is arguing that an honor killing is not a crime or even that it is the greatest of crimes. On the contrary. However, an honor killing may certainly deserve a much harsher sentence than a domestically violent beating; in certain cases, where torture or premeditation is involved, an honor killing/femicide might deserve a harsher sentence than a spontaneous, unpremeditated murder which did not involve any torture. ...and take a look at this from the comments and remember the teens shot by their father in his cab after their mother betrayed them for him (watch out for male identified women) -- his whole family hiding him - the brother looking to be just like him right here in the good old USA. Remember we tolerate Muslims sending their children to be schooled in Madrases in Pakistan and then returning to the USA> These are the games the CIA plays with citizen's lives. Their play/work is so much more important than reality on the ground.

HERE is the big TRUTH. You can argue about whether femicide is plain old domestic violence or something different until we are all dead but violence to women is all connected to our autonomy. As long as we tolerate women being held as slaves anywhere, we will be slaves with veils over our understanding of our own position in freedomland.

We must reject emphatically by any means necessary the slavery of women globally or we will never have actual equality here. Women are a Caste. We are viewed and treated as objects. Some women kiss ass and have privilege including the privilege to oppress other women. These are male identified women and they support men over women, i.e. Obama over Hillary. They are one man away from living in their cars. This is the truth.

I am not preaching sisterhood or saying trust male identified women or support them. I am saying your liberation is connected to the global liberation of all women. The rising of women anywhere, elevate gender rights everywhere. Find women who want to be free and who understand women have to function as a global union to gain equal rights. Join with them. Don't accept personal abuse, or humiliation from other women but understand that people who have lived oppressed tend to act the way they have been acted upon. Criticize lovingly if you can. Understand that equality means responsibility not special dispensations from responsibility for your own choices.
