Medical marijuana legislation introduced — act now to make Wisconsin the 13th state to protect patients

This is not the first time the Wisconsin Legislature has considered medical marijuana legislation, but it is one of the most anticipated bills in years.
With 13 representatives from both major parties either sponsoring or co-sponsoring LRB-2455/1, the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act is a true bipartisan effort.

In 2005, a statewide poll showed that over 75% of respondents would support legislation to permit patients "with cancer, multiple sclerosis, or other serious illnesses to use marijuana for medical purposes, as long as their physician approves."
Please send your legislators an e-mail today urging them to represent the desires of their constituents by supporting the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act.
After you have e-mailed your legislators, you may want to follow up with a call asking them to support the right of patients and doctors to decide what treatment is best. Click here to find out who your legislators are. If you already know who your legislators are, simply call the State Legislative Hotline and ask to speak with them. That number is (800) 362-9472.
